Pink Denim Cheat (+ three ways to wear it)

I have recently been obsessing about these bright pink skinny jeans by Sold ($108, Piperlime), but can't bring myself to spend three figures on something I may have only five (really awesome) opportunities to wear. Ever.

Time for another cheat sheet...

Valentine Cheat

Love is in the air... and if you're like me, all the mushy stuff is making you a little nauseous. That said I like to participate in Valentine's Day just as much as the next red-blooded American girl. On a mission to find a gift that didn't include a teddy bear or Godiva, I found this little glass heart vessel, called a corezone (Etsy, $60), you can place a thought or desire or a wish. The catch is that in order to release your emotion you must break the pretty little heart.

A perfect balance of bitter and sweet.

How-to Tuesday - Soda Can Curls

I am obsessed with the photo of Ashley Olsen, with Diet Coke cans in her hair, looking incredibly old-school glam. I also find myself imagining the almost unfathomable amount of volume that would come from a roller this big.

Chanel Fascinator Cheat

I came across this photo on Part Time Princess and immediately fell in love with the glamour of it all... the hair, the make-up, and of course the giant flower/feather fascinator. Not to mention that it was taken backstage at a Chanel runway show.

I'm not one for over-the-top hair, but I think a few feathers in your hair can really bring a simple dress to the next level. I obviously have no idea where one might find the amazing Chanel version, so I tracked down a few other glamour-worthy versions online.

Zac Posen LBD Cheat

I thought Amber Heard looked incredible at the SAG Awards in a black Zac Posen gown. I know a lot of critics don't like black on the red carpet, but this dress was not boring or safe. It managed to be sexy without too much cleavage or leg and the cutouts were edgy and young.

This got me to thinking that something like this could replace my boring old LBD...

Real Icons

While browsing through my Sunday reading list this morning, I came across this image on the Satorialist. The image is of the poster's mother on her wedding day in Milan. It's truly stunning. The woman could easily be mistaken for a famous model or actress, but her anonymity makes the moment all the more tangible.

Science Lite DIY

While perusing Design Milk I came across the pretty little number made from glass chemistry test tubes and plywood. It's just begging for one of you DIY divas out there to get your hands on. Who is up for the challenge?
